Enyimba: We proved the stuff of champions over Bayelsa, Says Ikhana

Kadiri Ikhana, Technical Adviser of Enyimba, has spoken the team's 4-0 victory over Bayelsa United as the stuff of champions. The Aba based team, who were in a masterclass for from start to finish made means meat of their opponent who conversely had no answer to the game plan of the home side. Kadiri Ikhana who was critical of the team's performance in their one nil defeat at Akwa United on Matchday 26 was evidently pleased after the game on Sunday and called it the stuff of champions. "We have been champions before," he told EnyimbaFC.net. "We have the mentality of champions and this game today is the stuff of champions. A game you play with purpose and belief. We started the first ten minutes a bit slowly but we picked up quickly and played the second half really good." "This shows that on a good day, we can play good football and score good goals." Ikhana however refused to be drawn into the tight title chase, saying until the very end, every team in the top half of the table stood a good chance and for him, it was about the next result. "It's about the next result, that's what I believe. We lost on Wednesday, now we have won today so it's just about the next result and not about the end of the season. Of course we want to win the league just like any other team, but at this time it's the next three points that matter. "I do know however that Enyimba has got good players who are capable of getting good results, so I am optimistic that we can give a good account of ourselves." Enyimba are third on the table with 43 points following the win.
