My First Goal Of TheSeason Means A Lot To Me, Says Amanfor
Enyimba forward Chimezie Amanfor has revealed to the club's website that scoring the opening goal in his side's 4-0 triumph over Bayelsa United on Matchday 27 of the Nigeria Premier Leagueis worth a gold to him.
Amanfor had put Enyimba ahead in the 44th as the six-time champions Nigerian scored twice in each half to stun a poor Bayelsa United side.
Speaking to EnyimbaFC.net after the game, Amanfor said it was one goal and one game he would remember for a long time.
"I don't get the chance to score a lot of goals because I usually come in from the bench in the second half," Amanfor said. "But I started this game and I thank God for giving me the opportunity to prove myself and what I can do if I play for longer periods."
"I will remember this game for a long time because I scored and my team won by a large margin, it's not easy," Amanfor beamed.
"My team mates all played well today and without them we won't be talking about a win today, not to mention a 4-0 win at that. It means a lot to me and I give God all the glory."
The goal was Amanfor's first league goal of the season. The club next meets rivals Heartland of Owerri in an Eastern derby in Aba on Sunday.
