Former Chelsea coach Avram Grant will receive a whopping $150,000 as salary if he is appointed as the next Black Stars coach.
The vacant Black Stars job now has three coaches now shortlisted for
the interview starting today ( Friday ) after Dutch international
Patrick Kluivert, Italian Marco and Bernard Schuster have all denied
showing interest.
The three aspirants has Michel Pont, assistant coach for Switzerland at
this year’s World Cup, Spanish coach Juan Ignacio Martínez and Avram
Grant all gunning for the vacant Job.
Avram Grant, who last month was appointed technical director at
Thailand club BEC-Tero Sasana, was head coach of Chelsea in the 2007/08
season when he took them to the runner-up position in both the Premier
League and UEFA Champions League.
He later on went to manage Portsmouth and West Ham United, and Serbian
side Partizan Belgrade, who he led to the domestic league title before
resigning in May 2012.
The experienced hand will resign from the Thailand club if the
Government of Ghana can match his $150,000 demand alongside other
fringe benefits is said to be in Ghana over the weekend.
His wage demands could discourage the FA and shore up the prospects of
the two remaining coaches; Michel Pont and Juan Ignacio Martínez who
have with lesser demands.
One of the two will be more likely to be named as the next Black Stars Coach.
