Ernie Els from South Africa claimed the clubhouse lead on his 45th
birthday as the second day of the Hong Kong Open came to an end.
The four-time Major winner started the day two points behind Indian leader Jyoti Randhawa on the first day.
But he swiftly took the lead with four birdies in five holes.
Els dropped his only shot of the day in the fourth round.
Defending champion Miguel Angel Jiménez's bid to win a record fifth
Hong Kong Open was adversely effected by a bout of suspected food
poisoning.
The Spaniard struggled through his morning round and ended the first round on two over par.
