Courtois Seeking Solution

Thibaut Courtois poses one of the most pressing problems in need of solving at Atlético. Just over a month ago it looked like he was destined to spend another season on the banks of the Manzanares, but things are not so clear anymore. Permission from Chelsea for him to put in a fourth season there has been withdrawn, and Mourinho wants him back as soon as possible. Cech's injury, and the consequent operation, has led to a significant shift in stance.
Both teams now want Courtois in their ranks for the 2014/15 season, which means that the desires of the keeper could play a fundamental role in deciding whether things go one way or the other. The Belgian is crystal clear on what he wants, or rather what he does not want: "Going to Chelsea to play only in the FA Cup and the League Cup is not an option. I've said it lots of times. We'll find a solution. I don't think it will be good to have two keepers like Cech and me in the same team."
Courtois is not one to bite his tongue. As soon as the Champions League final finished, and with a lump still in his throat, he went beyond the purely contractual side of things: "Clearly I'm very close to Atlético, a team which has given me a great deal of appreciation, while I don't have any emotional bond with Chelsea," remarked the Belgian.
