Cruyff: "Sometimes when you can't score you need to pass"
Johan Cruyff has an optimistic view of this new Barcelona side, and he believes that Luis Enrique is on the right path.
In an interview with BeIN Sports, the former 'Azulgranas' manager discussed the importance of the Luis Suárez signing, not just because of his contribution on the pitch, but as an ideal tool to improve Messi and Neymar: "Perhaps with the presence of Suarez the Messi-Neymar connection can improve. Last year the connection didn't work because they didn't perform well. Only time can tell".
"The season has just started. The team is already being heaped with praise, but trophies are decided in May. You need to remain calm and let everyone get on with their work. Barça are winning matches despite so many changes, and that's an important step", said Cruyff.
The Dutchman also talked about the new role that Messi is playing at Barcelona: "Sometimes when you can't score, you need to pass the ball. This comes with time, and since Messi is developing at the moment, then that's to be expected with the quality he has".
Finally, Cruyff believes in the work put in by the new Barça boss: "Only time can tell us if Luis Enrique will be a success. Things are looking good and the players are looking strong so far. There are always injuries and that kind of thing though. That's why you need to have a bit of luck, but Luis Enrique has everything running in his favour at the moment".
