I Did Not Call Heartland’s General Manager Names, Says Emeteole

By Eddie Akalonu HEARTLAND of Owerri’s technical adviser, Kelechi Emeteole, says he was quoted out of context in his response to nagging issues about the club. “I could not have gone all out to run down the general manager in his personal capacity or his office as the story said of conflict in the club. I neither called him names nor made insinuations about his person in derogatory manner.” “I merely in the interview answered questions asked if there exists personality and role conflict between general manager, Christian Ibe and myself following an incident bordering on team list before a match,” The said story bordered on Ibeh’s alleged interference in technical matters through Emeteole’s assistants in one instance and, about team selection. “I expressed my feelings because I am of the opinion that if things were not going well, my attention should be have been drawn to it directly That's about what I meant” “But aspects that quoted me casting aspersions on the person of the general manager are not true. I would never have done that even under provocation and I would like such issues corrected and refuted. I like to stick to issues and to rules, “ he stated The general manager runs the club as head of management who was dully appointed. Indeed, for a man who has paid his dues as player and coach both at club and various levels of the national teams, aspects of the interview which Emeteole has called attention to that touched on Christian Ibeh, the general manager was our error and the mistake is deeply regretted. Sources in Owerri say although the situation initially was affecting the club adversely, the parties have however found a meeting point, and agreed to move the club forward. Players, coaches and officials have vowed to work for the general good of the club especially participation in up- coming games of the Premier league.”
