Luanda based Interclube De basketball club of Angola Friday has won it’s fourth Afrcican title after defeating city rival Primeiro D’Agosto basketball club by 61-60 points in the final if the 2013 championship in Meknes Morocco.
Interclube won the first quarter by 22-11 points but faced a strongoppoisition from Primeiro in second and despite dominating the play, Interclube lost the quarter by 15-27 38-37.
The third quarter saw the reigning champions Interclube having it their way to end at 13-09 points to take a six points advantage going into the last quarter. Although it was s fiercely fought by both teams with Primeiro taking a point lead less than six second left on the clock, a time-out by the bench of Interclube thus altered play as it’s players made good use of the time-out to replan and thus were able to win their third Champions Cup (2010, 2011 and 2013.
